Hello and welcome to all our customers, tenants and visitors. I am so pleased to finally be presenting our John Montague Centre live on social media as well as our own website. 

A little history on the centre for your interest…

Looking back to the early 1990’s Montague Gardens was evolving as a major commercial industrial area.

In an unusual twist of events, a request was made by the Standard Bank group to the owners of Milnerton Estates, to develop a service centre where they, the bank, could open a branch and be able to serve this growing community. And so it happened, and by mid 1990’s was completed, and The John Montague Centre, being THE FIRST community centre in the area, was born!

Standard Bank was indeed the first tenant, along with a fast food & restaurant named Pintos. 

In January 2001, I was fortunate enough to purchase the centre and endeavoured to continue to ensure that the JMC provided a good range of shops and services for this community, and beyond.

Over the years we have attracted a good variety of tenants- shops and services, to cater for the community and our customer’s needs.  In 2014 we added an additional 700M2 of retail space to the centre, in an attempt to maximise the opportunities for variety in our store selection. 

As always, staying committed to providing the best possible experience for customers to benefit and enjoy themselves.

I am proud to attest that by virtue of my commitment, passion & vision, I have been able to provide a centre where our tenants have happily and successfully stayed with us for many decades now.

Looking into the future, we will continue to provide the best available retail services to our clientele, and be mindful as always, of what the community wants and needs from us. In addition to our wonderful mix of stores and services, some other noteworthy perks include ample & accessible free parking!!& Our recently well enhanced security operations!

We will keep you developments we have planned.

Today, The JMC is most definitely considered a landmark and we are very proud of our ownership and contribution to ensuring the ongoing upliftment  of the centre and the district. We look forward to providing many more years of enjoyable, useful and a productive business & pleasurable environment .
